Nightlife in Lisbon
Lisbon is known for it’s vibrant and diverse nightlife. What’s so great about nightlife in Lisbon is that there’s something for everyone. If you’re visiting Lisbon for a couple of days, you’ll definitely have a great time in Bairro Alto and in Pink Street (in the area Cais do SodrΓ©). In these neighborhoods you’ll find so many bars that you’ll struggle to choose! π Important to note that these areas are very popular under the younger crowd, so if you’re 30+, you’ll might feel a bit out of place.
If you’re a regular visitor, if you live in Lisbon (or if you’re age is above 30 ;-)), you might want to explore other type of venues that are popular under locals. Luckily Lisbon has a lot of hidden gems where you’ll have an unforgettable night out. Most of them are found in the trendy area Principe Real. This area is also known for it’s LGBTQ+ friendly places, since the LGBTQ+ community in Lisbon is quite big.
Also, don’t forget the many rooftop bars Lisbon features. Not only nice for a refreshing drink in the sun at daytime, but at night these locations often times turn into amazing parties!
Until what time can you party in Lisbon?
This totally depends on the type of venue. While most nightclubs are open until 5 or 6AM, bars might close earlier. In the area Bairro Alto, bars close around 2AM – which makes sense, since it’s a residential area (poor people)… Good to know: also all the kebab & pizza places close around that hour, so if you fancy eating something after a night out, you better be quick ;-).
Electronic music events in LisbonΒ
If you like electronic music, you’re absolutely in the right place in Lisbon, since Lisbon’s house and techno scene is quite big. The best clubs in Lisbon with electronic music are Lux, Kremlin, Harbour Music Shelter, Nada Temple, Europa, Lounge, Desterro and MINISTERIUM CLUB.
The best parties in Lisbon
But Lisbon has more to offer, although it requires maybe a little bit more research, as we discuss in the episode. We mostly use the Instagram page this.is.lisbon to find the best parties in Lisbon. The page feautures not only parties, but also events, festivals, concerts and much more. There’s so much happening in Lisbon thats it’s hard to keep up, so a little organization and planning won’t hurt ;-).
