How we view our homecountries after moving to Portugal
In the episode we discuss how traveling solo and meeting people from all over the world broadened our view. Ever since moving to Portugal and having friends with different nationalities, our perspective changed even more. We noticed that the way we view our homecountry changed after moving to Portugal versus before moving here.
There’s some things we see more critically now or that even seem weird to us, but we also see the good points of our homecountries. We realized even more that no country is perfect and that the feeling of belonging somewhere can change overtime.
Moving back home after living abroad
This is something that’s not talked about enough online, but comes with a lot of challenges. After some years of living abroad, moving back home will might again feel like starting from zero. For some people moving back home can even be more difficult than moving abroad. In the episode we discuss if we would ever see ourselves moving back to our homecountries (or not). We talk about the culture shocks we’ve experienced when visiting our homecountries and if we feel like we could still blend in or not.
Why we love life in Portugal so much
Ever since we stepped foot in Portugal, we felt at home immediately and that feeling has never gone away. We love the slower pace of life, the more “analogue” vibe, the warmth of the Portuguese people and of course the beauty of the country. We just feel like it fits our personalities and the phase of life that we’re currently in perfectly.
